AI Disclosure Policy: PHIR SHIKSHA

Effective Date: AUGUST, 2026

At PHIR SHIKSHA, we leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance the learning
experience. This policy outlines how we use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how we
disclose it to our students in compliance with the IT Rules 2026.

1. DEFINITION OF SYNTHETIC MEDIA

“Synthetically Generated Information” (SGI) refers to audio, visual, or audio-visual
content that has been significantly created or altered using AI algorithms to appear real
or authentic.

2. OUR USE OF AI

PHIR SHIKSHA uses AI tools for the following purposes:

  • Educational Enhancements: AI-generated subtitles, automated translations, and voice-over clarity.
  • Virtual Instructors: The use of AI avatars or synthetic voices to deliver course modules where a human instructor is not present.
  • Personalized Learning: AI-driven summaries, quiz generation, and student performance analytics.

3. MANDATORY DISCLOSURES & LABELING

In accordance with Rule 3(3)(b) of the IT Rules 2026, we implement the following:

  • Visual Labeling: Any video featuring an AI avatar or synthetic person will carry a prominent, permanent watermark or on-screen label stating: “Synthetically Generated” or “AI-Assisted Content.”
  • Audio Disclosure: For audio-only lessons using synthetic voices, a clear disclosure will be played at the beginning of the track informing the listener that the audio is AI-generated.
  • Metadata Integrity: We embed permanent technical provenance markers (metadata) in our AI-generated files. Users are strictly prohibited from attempting to remove or tamper with these markers.

4. EXEMPTIONS (PER IT RULES 2026)

As an educational platform, certain AI uses are exempt from “Synthetic” labeling if they are used in “good faith” for:

  • Technical Processing: Routine color correction, noise reduction, or video compression.
  • Accessibility: AI-generated transcripts and alt-text for the visually impaired.
  • Formatting: Standard document preparation and template-based educational designs that do not alter the material facts of the information.

5. PROHIBITED AI USE PHIR SHIKSHA strictly

prohibits the use of AI for:

  • Deepfakes: Creating deceptive videos of real individuals (instructors or students) without their explicit, written consent.
  • Misinformation: Generating synthetic content intended to spread false facts or forged digital records.
  • Privacy Violations: Using AI to simulate non-consensual imagery or personal data.

6. USER RESPONSIBILITY If the PHIR SHIKSHA

platform allows users to upload content (e.g., in community forums or assignments):

  • Users must declare if their content is AI-generated at the time of upload.
  • Failure to disclose AI use may lead to a 3-hour takedown of the content and account suspension.

7. REPORTING & GRIEVANCES

If you believe any AI-generated content on our platform is misleading, unlabeled, or violates your privacy, please contact our Grievance Officer immediately:

Technical Instructions for the Team (Iti):

  • The 3-Hour Rule: Per the Feb 2026 amendment, if the government or a court orders the removal of unlabeled or harmful synthetic media, we must comply within 3 hours. Ensure our technical team has an “Emergency Kill Switch” for content.
  • Provenance: When generating AI videos (via tools like HeyGen, Sora, or ElevenLabs), ensure the metadata is preserved during the upload to our LMS.
  • User Interface: On the course player, add a small “AI Info” icon that users can hover over to see exactly which parts of the module were AI-assisted.
